How to set up an experiment - PhDs

Jump to navigation Jump to search
  1. Create your experiment
  2. Put all necessary experimental files in your Folder on the Cerberus server (T:\..\Labs\'UsedLab'\ExptOrUserdata\Yourname\YourExperiment. Avoid putting your data or program files on the Desktop of the computers in order to avoid clutter.
  3. Use the SONA system to upload timeslots for participants
  4. In case you need specific settings of the monitors, chinrests, etc..., change everything back to the default settings (see description on the wiki) when you leave the lab. Also, let the respective RA know what you changed, so that he/she can double-check.
  5. If you need extra material, check the wiki whether you can find it in the lab, if not, ask the helpdesk.
  6. Before you leave the lab, you can synchronize the “Expt” folder on the computers in each cubicle with Cerberus, so that you can access your experimental data from outside the lab. In order to sync, you need to be logged in on the control machine as “cogpsyproefleider” and to run “BothSyncAllCubicles.bat”. The password is the same for both of them. Note: You have to make sure, that no program is running while synchronizing!
  7. In order to get reimbursed for the payment of the subjects, you have to do 3 things:
    1. Send a request for reimbursement to the financial department approximately one week before you want to pick up your money. You can find a template on the wiki page (“Model Aanvraag.pdf”)
    2. Fill a “declaratieformulier.pdf” and let Jan, Mieke or Chris (preferably Jan) sign it and bring this form also to the financial department
    3. Let each participant fill a line in the “Kwiteringslijst.pdf”. After you finished testing (or the list is full) let Jan, Mieke or Chris (preferably Jan) sign this form, bring it again to the financial department and pick up your money.
